Review follows memory state

Core loop

From selecting a word to actually remembering it.

Capture

Capture from any context

Select text in browsers, chats, documents, or reading materials. On Mac, a short-lived floating menu lets you explain, translate, or save it.

Understand

Make the meaning clear first

Chinese translation, English explanation, examples, part of speech, usage notes, and confusing words are generated as assistance. Your own notes stay in control.

Review

Review by forgetting science

LexiMemo records recall quality, keeps a memory state, and schedules today, overdue, and future reviews instead of sending fixed reminders.

Sync

Sync across Apple devices

macOS is optimized for fast capture. iPhone and iPad support browsing and review. Incremental sync keeps your personal vocabulary current.

Product stance

A restrained learning tool, not a noisy English app.

LexiMemo focuses on long-term ownership, clear understanding, and durable review. It should feel like a high-quality personal workbench: quiet, fast, and reliable.

FAQ

Questions you might have.

How is LexiMemo different from other vocabulary apps?
Most vocabulary apps give you a fixed word list or turn learning into a game. LexiMemo is your own vocabulary system — you capture words from your real reading and work, AI helps you understand them, and scientific review schedules keep them in memory. No canned content, no gamification.
What does the AI do, and is my data safe?
AI generates translation, explanation, examples, and usage notes to help you understand a word. Suggestions come directly from your device to DeepSeek using your own API key — the LexiMemo backend never sees your key or your enrichment requests. Your vocabulary is synced encrypted through Cloudflare.
Do I need my own DeepSeek API key?
For AI-powered word understanding, yes. You sign up at platform.deepseek.com, get an API key, and configure it in the app. It stays in your Apple Keychain on-device. LexiMemo works without it — you can still capture, review, and sync vocabulary without AI enrichment.
Is there an Android or web version?
V1 is Apple-only (macOS, iOS, iPadOS). A web reader and Android app are on the long-term roadmap but not yet scheduled.
How does the review scheduling work?
LexiMemo uses a Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler (FSRS), a modern algorithm that models memory decay from your recall quality. Unlike fixed-interval systems, FSRS adapts to how well you actually remember each word, keeping reviews efficient and well-timed.
